FIA ETRC round at the Nürburgring cancelled

22 April 2020

In light of the ongoing restrictions due to the current coronavirus pandemic, the local organisers of the Int. ADAC Truck-Grand-Prix have decided to cancel this year’s event at the Nürburgring.

The German government has announced a ban on major events until 31 August 2020, which means it would have no longer been possible for the FIA ETRC round at the Nürburgring to be held on the scheduled date of 18-19 July 2020.

As it’s difficult to predict how the situation will develop beyond 31 August 2020, local race organiser ADAC Mittelrhein made the conscious decision to cancel the round rather than postpone, and focus on being able to hold the race weekend under normal circumstances in 2021.
The date for next year’s event at the Nürburgring has been set as 17/18 July 2021, subject to FIA confirmation.

Whilst there’s uncertainty about how the situation will develop over the next few weeks due to the coronavirus outbreak, the promoter of the FIA European Truck Racing Championship stills plans to run all of the remaining 7 scheduled rounds for this season.

Tickets that have already been purchased for this year’s race weekend at the Nürburgring will remain valid for next year. Please visit https://www.truck-grand-prix.de/ for further information.
