Meet the Grid: Don't Touch Racing

27 April 2020

The intriguingly named Don't Touch Racing team made its FIA ETRC debut in 2018 with one of the bright young talents in the shape of André Kursim.

The team was founded by longtime truck racing supporter Sven Walter through his well-known truck and transportation business interests.

André Kursim started out competing in karts before taking in some VLN racing in his native Germany in 2013.  From 2014 onwards André tackled the FIA ETRC where he has made solid progress in becoming one to watch as he built his career at the highest level of this discipline of motorsport.

2017 was a breakthrough season for the 28-year-old, who scored two race wins at Zolder and proved that he can be a force to be reckoned with. Kursim finished ninth overall but lost out to José Rodrigues in the Promoter's Cup, with engine failure at Most playing a significant role in the final outcome of the new for 2017 category.

2018 marked a new chapter of Kursim's when he joined newly-formed Don't Touch Racing outfit, swapping Mercedes-Benz for IVECO machinery. He won one race and ended up ranked eighth in the standings, one place better than the year before.

The German made constant progress from season to season, scoring two race wins in 2019 at the Hungaroring and at Le Mans, and will be looking to add more victories to his name.
