Here's what the top drivers of the Saturday's races had to say once the dust settled down at Slovakia Ring.
Race 1
Antonio Albacete - Truck Sport Lutz Bernau | MAN
“At the start, Adam [Lacko] had a bit of a problem and I manage to take the first place. Then it was very, very hard to keep Jochen [Hahn] behind. Whichever mirror I look into, his truck was there. I won here last year from the reversed grid race and I won now, it’s not a bad place for me! The track is very technical and the racing is good.“
Jochen Hahn - Team Hahn Racing | IVECO
“The qualifying didn’t go too well but it was totally my mistake. I knew that we have the speed here but we didn’t have a good set up. At the start, I think Adam [Lacko] had a problem with wheel spin and had a very slow start. Later, I think we’ve put on a good show for the spectators together with Antonio.“
Adam Lacko - Buggyra International Racing System | Freightliner
“My clutch was sliding at the start and I lost ground. After that it was fine and I could continue as normal. I was battling with Sascha [Lenz] late in the race. He made a mistake and I was able to pass him. Later, [Norbi] Kiss passed him too. I have a podium finish and I’m happy about that.“
Race 2
Shane Brereton - TOR Truck Racing | MAN
“I’m feeling marvellous right now! We struggled for pace at the Nürburgring and found a lot of silly little things that wrong. We fined tuned most of them. We went right through the truck last night, Jochen [Hahn] helped us a lot and it’s just fantastic when you have to work so hard getting everything done. It was really difficult keeping Jochen behind me. There was one time that I pushed my luck. I was all stressed, full of doubts but it all came good.”
Jochen Hahn - Team Hahn Racing | IVECO
“At the start, there was a big mistake and a contact in front of me so I could stick to the inside line and gain places – as a result, I was fourth after the first corner. It was a bit opportunistic, but you must do that when somebody makes a mistake in front of you. Send race of the day and a second-time second place, what else can I say? Perfect!”
Rene Reinert - Reinert Racing | MAN
“It wasn’t easy for me to driver here as most of my competitors have a track knowledge advantage over me. Initially, in qualifying, I had a few problems but the race was OK. I started from the second row and the start was OK. Shane was in front of me, I was trying to pass him, but he was having a really good race. Then I made a tiny mistake and Jochen overtook me. I would like to have a bigger trophy, the chance was there, but overall, considering it’s my first time here, it wasn’t bad."
