Clemens Hecker returns to the Goodyear FIA ETRC grid for his third season of truck racing in 2022 in a brand-new Scania racing truck
Hecker first started racing trucks in 2017 in the ADAC Mittelrhein Cup with a Scania torpedo truck he bought off Swedish driver Mikael Johansson. After his first season, the German racer changed to a MAN truck, which he raced in the Dutch Truck Racing Series in 2018 and 2019, before joining the ETRC grid as a full-season entry from 2020.
In a bit to step up his efforts, Hecker wanted to build a brand-new truck and after two years of planning and months of hard work, the striking new truck is ready to hit the track.
For Hecker, who runs a stone quarrying/mining business in Germany, the decision on the make of his new truck was easy, as he’d been using Scania trucks in his company for years.
“I knew I wanted a Scania, so we built one from scratch,” said Hecker. "It’s the latest generation of trucks from Scania with a newly developed engine and a completely overhauled design.”
It won’t be long until the new truck, which the team have named Predator Minna, gets his first outing on track, as the team plans to test the new machine this week ahead of the season start in Misano on 21/22 May.
