Jochen Hahn became the third winner in as many races this weekend at Nogaro as he claimed victory this afternoon.

Jochen Hahn became the third winner in as many races this weekend at Nogaro as he claimed victory this afternoon.

The German took the lead from pole sitter Adam Lacko at the start and was able to control the race despite some late race pressure from the Buggyra International Racing System driver. The result ensures that Hahn now leads the standings by a single point going in to the final race later this afternoon.

Following on from his race two win on Saturday afternoon, Rene Reinert took another clutch of points with third position. The German was able to manage the gap to his teammate Steffi Halm who secured fourth position.

Halm came under attack early on from Anthony Janiec in the yellow Lion Truck Racing entry. The combative Frenchman however was unable to sustain the pressure and had to settle for fifth position and a repeat of his race two result from yesterday.

It was a relatively sedate race compared to previous encounters but the early stages still saw plenty of action, not last between Ellen Lohr and Sascha Lenz who disputed sixth place in the opening laps. Some contact was made between the two at turns four and five.

Eduardo Rodrigues continued his fruitful weekend with some more points for eighth position. The Portuguese veteran was able to fend off young firebrand Jiri Forman in the second of the Buggyra International System Freightliner ‘FatFox’ trucks.

All set to take the final point was Erwin Kleinnaggelvoort’s Scania but he crashed on lap eight. Fortunately the Dutchman was able to climb from his truck unaided and uninjured.

Sadly, race one victor Norbert Kiss was ruled out of racing today after breaking a piston on his Tankpool24 Racing Mercedes-Benz at the start of this morning’s Super Pole session. The reigning champion will be back in action at Nurburgring at the beginning of July.

Reinert Adventure (Reinert’Hahn) claimed first position in the teams championship ahead of Buggyra 1969 (Lacko/Forman) and the WOW Women on Wheels (Halm/Lohr) squads.
