KISS CLAIMS POLE fOR RACE 3 IN HUNGARY

13 June 2021

Local hero Norbert Kiss secured pole for Race 3 as he posted the fastest time in qualifying on Sunday morning.

Times were closer than in Saturday’s qualifying session, as the top 3 were only separated by 0.8 seconds. Second placed Sascha Lenz was very close to Kiss and narrowly missed out on the top spot by 0.2 seconds.

Antonio Albacete improved on his performance from yesterday to take third on the grid for the first race of the day.

“It’s been a close session and I’m happy with pole position,” said Kiss. “I need to get a good start and take it from there. We are looking good with the race pace, we should be better on the long run than in qualifying.”

Czech driver Adam Lacko will line up alongside Albacete on the second row in his Buggyra Racing Freightliner.

Jochen Hahn improved his time as he crossed the finish line and qualified his IVECO S-Way in fourth position ahead of Andre Kursim, who improved his times from yesterday’s sessions.

Steffi Halm will start race 3 from seventh, alongside Shane Brereton who will also start in pole position for the Goodyear Cup.

Rounding out the top ten are René Reinert and Téo Calvet.
