Round 6 of the ETRC Digital Racing Challenge will get underway at the virtual track in Zolder this Sunday.
Norbert Kiss holds the crown of qualifying on pole in every first race so far and also still sits on top of the leaderboard. However over the last couple of races two other drivers have really stepped up to the digital challenge and not let Kiss run away without a fight.
Sascha Lenz has proven to be one of the most consistent drivers having been on the podium in 9 out of ten races. He’s also shown some great sim racing skills having raced through the field from further behind to score a top 3 result in all but one race. Lenz will without a doubt have his eyes on the top step this weekend.
French Buggyra racer Téo Calvet has been the only driver so far to win a race other than Norbert Kiss. The 19-year old Frenchman has shown some strong sim racing over the course of the virtual season, staying hot on the tail of the Hungarian and also had great battles with Sascha Lenz as they’ve shared the podium in five races.
Young German racer Lukas Hahn joined the grid halfway through the virtual season at the Nürburgring and already scored two podiums in four races. He’s shown great potential, however lacked speed at times to keep up with the front-runners.
British racer Jamie Anderson has been in the front running group in much of the first few races however had a few set-backs from penalties which dropped him back in the ranks. He is overdue a top result and will be looking to secure a podium in the remaining races.
The racing action will get underway this Sunday 19 July, with qualifying at 17:30, followed by Race 1 at 18:00 and Race 2 at 19:00 (all times CET).
