The Buggyra International Racing System driver warded off an initial first lap challenge by Rene Reinert to claim a convincing win and in so doing take the lead in the points table by just two points, from Jochen Hahn, who finished third in race one.
Reinert ended the race in second position after losing out in a thrilling dual through the first series of corners. The German just lost out to Lacko, despite a valiant attempt at the lead in his No.77 Reinert Racing MAN truck.
Jochen Hahn settled for third position this afternoon in his self entered Goodyear shod MAN truck. The former double champion was able to just fend off Steffi Halm (by 0.239s), who drove a faultless race showing excellent and consistent pace to take fourth placed points in her Reinert entered MAN.
There was an entertaining fight for fifth position that lasted for much of the race between Anthony Janiec (Lion Truck) and Ellen Lohr (Truck Sport Lutz-Bernau). Lohr got the better of Janiec on the opening lap when the Frenchman ran wide, but the places were soon reversed after a tense battle when Janiec made a move on lap five.
Gerd Korber came up from 10th place on the grid to claim seventh but was penalised post-race for overspeeding, while Jeremy Robineau put in a fine performance to take eighth.
Norbert Kiss put in one of the drives of the race in his Tankpool24 Racing Mercedes-Benz. The Hungarian sprinted up from last on the grid to ninth place at the chequered flag. It was the start of some majorly positive signs for the brand new Mercedes-Benz truck. Ninth became eighth after Gerd Korber's penalty, meaning that Kiss will start race two from pole position.
Claiming the final point was Jiri Forman in the second Buggyra International Racing System ‘FatFox’. The young Czech survived contact with Frankie Vojtisek but both drivers were put under investigation for the incident.
In the teams race Reinert Adventures took the victory from Buggyra 1969 while Wow! Women on Wheels, with Steffi Halm and Ellen Lohr claimed a merited third position.
Today's race was started by special guest and former French and European truck racing champion Noel Crozier who is making a rare and popular visit to the paddock
The second race of the weekend is scheduled to take place at 17.30 this afternoon.
