The third and fourth races of the sixth round of the 2019 FIA European Truck Racing Championship season were cancelled on safety grounds due to heavy rain that occurred on Sunday at Autodrom Most.
The venue of the Czech round of the FIA ETRC treated competitors and fans with warm and sunny conditions on Friday, Saturday and Sunday morning, however a large weather front ensured hit the track and ensured that the Sunday races could not be completed.
Race 3 was about to get underway at 14:10 CET on Sunday and although the race was briefly started under yellow flag conditions the weather conditions deteriorated and a decision was taken to red flag the race on lap three after several trucks struggled for grip and went through the gravel at Turn 3.
"In these conditions, you're just a passenger," commented the experienced Antonio Albacete, who was running third behind Jochen Hahn and Adam Lacko when the race was abandoned.
After several delays and despite the best efforts of organisers and local marshals to clear standing water, the conditions did not improve sufficiently to allow the races to be held in safe conditions. Therefore the decision was taken to abandon racing. No points were awarded for the briefly started race three.
