Red Bull Ring debrief: Norbert Kiss, Tankpool24 Racing
We caught up with reigning FIA European Truck Racing Champion Norbert Kiss immediately after the opening event of the 2016 season at Red Bull Ring in Austria last weekend.
Norbi says…….
“It was very exciting for me because of my new team Tankpool 24 in the Mercedes Benz, so there was a lot of excitement and in a new team it is always exciting and challenging.
“The weekend was much better than expected actually and it was really good to see the team and the guys so happy. And of course we had some troubles and some crashes so I am sorry for the guys that they had to work so hard this weekend, I am really thankful for them.
“We did a good job so we were much more competitive than we expected, it is looking good, and it is a very good first step in our new project. So I am looking forward to the next races and looking forward to the new truck, because this is the old one. The new one will be a big step forward.
“The team is also working on engine development, so I am very much looking forward to the new engine and the steps we can take in engine development.”
“The aim is to have the new truck in Misano and the new engine maybe a little bit later.
“My new teammate (André Kursim) will be in Italy and actually a big thank you to him, he was a hero, he let me drive here in Austria, so I am really grateful.”
