Jochen Hahn again leads Super Pole ahead of Ryan Smith...
Jochen Hahn of Team Hahn Racing IVECO went quickest of all in Sunday’s Super Pole season to secure his third pole position of the 2018 FIA European Truck Racing Championship season.
The German set a time of 2:19.002 in his first attempt on the 4.381-mile Hungaroring track.
Ryan Smith, representing local team, OXXO Hungary Truck Racing Team, was his closest rival (0.351s off Hahn’s best), with yesterday’s pole-sitter Adam Lacko completing the top three.
Hungarian racing idol Norbi Kiss recorded a 2:19.666s lap, which was good enough for fourth on the grid, equalling his yesterday’s effort.
The third row of the grid will be shared by Antonio Albacete of Truck Sport Lutz Bernau and Steffi Halm of Team Schwabentruck IVECO.
Sascha Lenz in SL Trucksport MAN will be joined by his compatriot Rene Reinart in a similar machine run by Reinert Racing on fourth row of the grid.
The duo will have Andre Kursim in his Don’t Touch Racing IVECO behind them as well as Shane Brereton’s TOR Truck Racing MAN.
Brereton once again went fastest in the GRAMMER TRUCK CUP and was the only one amongst the category participants to break into the top ten.
Timed Practice
Hahn set the pace in the earlier Timed Practice as well. The German recorded 2:18.834. Local man Kiss was second fastest, but entire 0.676s off Hahn’s time.
Third on the timing screens was Lacko, who was followed by Lenz, Albacete, Reinert, Smith, Kursim, Halm and Brereton, who rounded out the top ten and topped the GRAMMER TRUCK CUP.
Jamie Anderson, second in the cup is the first one not to progress to the Super Pole session in 11th. Luis Recuenco finished 12th, ahead of GRAMMER TRUCK CUP points leader Ray Coleman lead Oly Janes, Terry Gibbon, Steffen Faas and Erwin Kleinnagelvoort. The Dutchman line up his Scania at the very back of the grid for the race due to start later this early afternoon, at 13:15 local time.
