British truck racer Terry Gibbon is bringing his T-Sport Racing team to the FIA European Truck Racing Championship this season.

The 2006 British Class B champion will campaign a T-Sport Racing MAN truck and enter at three rounds – Red Bull Ring, Nurburgring and Zolder.

“We are really looking forward to racing in the FIA ETRC and to share the same track as some of the heroes I used to watch racing when I was younger,” said Gibbon. “The level is obviously high and we have chosen three races this season but we very much want to do much more in the future.”

Gibbon, who took a break from racing in 2010 to build up a new business, returned to the track at the British Truck Racing event at Brands Hatch last weekend and made a points scoring return.

“It was great to be back on the track and get back in to the groove,” Gibbon said. “We have some work to do to get everything as we would like but so far so good. It was a solid start to our season. We will now head to Pembrey in Wales for a test and race before getting ready for Red Bull Ring.”

Gibbon, along with his engineering chief Tim Frost has worked flat out since the end of 2016 to build up the all-new MAN truck. It has been effort well spent as he looks to expand his horizons in to the International truck racing elite.

“To be sharing the track with guys like Jochen Hahn, Gerd Korber and Antonio Albacete is going to be incredible,” said Gibbon. “I got ‘the bug’ of truck racing when I went to watch some of these guys at Donington years ago so it will be great to be in the same race. I know we will have to build up gradually but eventually we want to fighting for good points scoring positions and even better given time.”
