Rally driver Jamie Anderson came to truck racing with a big reputation in British Rallying, as the Leicester born and bred racer has several top results under his belt in the enormously competitive British Rally Championship.
2018 was the British drivers first year of truck racing of any kind, following a switch from rallying. In order to clock up as many miles as possible, he dovetailed a partial campaign in FIA ETRC with a season in his domestic championship.
Driving a MAN truck under the Anderson Racing banner, the British racer showed plenty of promise in his rookie year in 2018, taking his maiden GRAMMER TRUCK CUP victory on his debut. He took part in six of eight rounds of the FIA ETRC, ending up fourth in the GRAMMER TRUCK CUP standings and 16th overall. He took four category wins and recorded seven top 10 finishes along the way.
With a season of experience on his side, he kicked off his 2019 campaign with a victory at the opening round in Misano and continued with a winning streak throughout the year: double victory at the Hungaroring, hat-trick in Slovakia, a win at the Nürburgring win, two wins at Zolder and Le Mans and another one at Jarama.
With a remarkable 12 category wins to his name Anderson had a stellar second season in the FIA ETRC finishing second in the 2019 GRAMMER TRUCK CUP. With his well-drilled Anderson Racing squad the former top rally driver seemed to excel on Sunday’s with 8 of his 12 wins coming on the second day of action.
Anderson took two victories and a podium in the Promoter's Cup during the shortened 2020 season.
In 2021 Anderson competed with a brand-new truck, which admittedly took some getting used to with it being right-hand steered. He scored two victories and 6 podiums in the Promoter’s Cup and will be looking to continue his hunt for the top step this season.
