What the drivers said after race four at Nürburgring

4 July 2016

Get the lowdown on what the top three said after an eventful and dramatic race four at Nürburgring, Germany yesterday

1st – Adam Lacko- Buggyra International Racing System

A fantastic race Adam, so eventful. I guess a lot hinged on the battle with Rene Reinert. There was the contact we saw out there, just talk us through this.

“It had been a nice race for me, making up a lot of places. I came up behind René (Reinert) and he started to move around and he was blocking everywhere, then he made a mistake at the exit of the corner, so I went to the inside and was really through, but he closed the door on me and we hit and he went off. I am sorry there was contact.”

But this was a perfect Sunday and you finish one point ahead of Jochen in the championship, so you must be happy how things have gone for you and the team.

“Yes, Jochen (Hahn) and I stay really close together in the championship. I think it is good that we fight cleanly, but René doesn’t seem to except it and I am sorry for this.”

2nd – Jochen Hahn (Team Hahn Racing)

So another podium finish and the championship is still very close

“Yes, but we should also look at Steffi (Halm) who is coming up in the championship and so we must look out for the ladies! She has made a big jump (in the drivers’ championship) with three times on the podium this weekend. She is definitely on the attack and Adam (Lacko) and I will have to look out.

“But yes, I am just one point behind and I am happy to be in the fight for the championship with him (Adam Lacko).”

3rd – Steffi Halm (Reinert Racing)

Another third place and again some good battles for you, especially with Norbert (Kiss) and where you had to withstand some enormous pressure in the final stages of the race, so talk us through it from your perspective Steffi.

“Yes, it was a hard race. So this time, the start was not so perfect for me. I made a mistake, which is why I lose too much time at the start and then I don’t know why, it was harder today, I didn’t seem to have such a good feeling with the truck and so I had to fight hard.

“When he (Kiss) was a little bit closer I tried to be steady into the corners, to then get the power out of them and it worked, so I was able to finish in third and I am very happy for that.”
