JOCHEN HAHN ON POLE IN ZOLDER

12 September 2021

Jochen Hahn inherited pole position for race 3, after Norbert Kiss was put to the back of the grid following a parc fermé infringement

The sun shone brightly on the Circuit Zolder this morning, as all 17 trucks took to the track for qualifying. After not racing all day yesterday, Clemens Hecker was back out looking to make up some of the ground lost. Unfortunately, despite his best efforts, he was unable to make it through to Super Pole but did have a clean 20-minute session ahead of Race 3 later today.

It was Kiss once again being chased by the rest of the pack. Taking provisional pole through from Qualifying, no one got near as he stormed around the 4km circuit, ending at the chequered flag with a seven-tenth advantage over the rest of the field. Compared to yesterday’s 0.056s margin for pole position, today's Super Pole was very much in Kiss’ hands.

After the session however, Norbert Kiss' laptimes from qualifying and Super Pole were cancelled due to a parc fermé infringement, which will see him start from the back of the grid.

Like yesterday, Hahn was closest to the Hungarian racer in qualifying, he will now lead the field away for race 3.

Another half a second split Hahn from the rest of the grid, but third through to eighth was covered by a second. Race two winner Adam Lacko will start from second on the grid, ahead of Sascha Lenz.

Antonio Albacete was the only improver in the second flying laps of Super Pole, moving up one spot on the grid in the dying moments of the session. He beat out André Kursim, Steffi Halm and Téo Calvet, who claimed pole in the GOODYEAR Cup.

The top ten was completed by Shane Brereton and René Reinert, who were both over two and a half seconds off the pole sitting pace.
