When the season kicks off at the Hungaroring in two weeks time, 16-full-season entries will line up on the grid for the 7 event, 30-race truck racing season.
Building on last years successful model, ETRA, the FIA and the local organiser have further refined the existing hygienic concept including tests and health checks for the teams and staff to keep everyone safe in the current environment.
Six-time FIA ETRC champion Jochen Hahn will head up the 2021 season grid, looking to add a seventh title to his glittering record in his IVECO S-Way.
One of Hahn’s closest rivals over the last couple of seasons, Hungarian racer Norbert Kiss, will be looking to build on his strong performance in last years’ races and re-claim the titles that he won in 2014 and 2015. Kiss will take to the track in his fire-red Révész Racing MAN in front of a limited number of home fans.
Two more FIA ETRC champions will line up alongside Hahn and Kiss on the grid: Spanish driver Antonio Albacete with T Sport Bernau and Adam Lacko in his BUGGYRA Racing Freightliner, who will both be keen to add more wins to their names.
German racer Sascha Lenz showed very good form in the short 2020 season, where he scored one win and two podiums, and he will be looking to add to his podium tally in what will be the sixth FIA ETRC season for the SL Trucksport 30 driver.
Steffi Halm, who is arguably the most successful female racing driver currently competing in an FIA championship, will build on her experience in a bid to get on the podium this season in her Team Schwabentruck IVECO S-Way.
René Reinert will be keen to build on his successful 2019 season, where after switching to an IVECO truck he scored 3 race wins and finished seventh overall.
Don’t Touch Racing driver André Kursim has improved his performance constantly over the last few years, scoring two race wins in 2019, and he will be looking to score more victories this season.
Another familiar driver to join the grid this year is Lion Truck Racing driver Anthony Janiec, who returns for a full season to the FIA ETRC in his yellow MAN truck.
British racer Jamie Anderson took two victories and a podium in last year’s Goodyear Cup and will be looking for glory after missing out on the crown in 2019.
Challenging him in his mission will be German driver Steffen Faas, who impressed with a strong performance last year in his brand new SCANIA racing truck with the new Tankpool24 Racing team. He scored 2 victories and 4 podiums in the Goodyear Cup and will be looking to continue his hunt for the top step this season.
French Racer Téo Calvet impressed with strong performances in last year’s events where he won twice in the Goodyear Cup category in Hungary and he also scored his first overall ETRC podium as he finished third.
German Clemens Hecker was in the mix with the front runners in the Goodyear Cup last year, where he scored three podiums and he will be out to add to his tally this season.
Youngest ever FIA ETRC entrant Aliyyah Koloc will return to the grid in her BUGGYRA Racing Freightliner. The 16-year old gave an impressive debut on her first outing, with a second place in the Goodyear Cup in the first race and strong eight place finish overall.
British driver Shane Brereton is returning to the FIA ETRC grid this season. The Brit dominated the Promoters Cup in 2018 and will be out to battle for the crown this year.
New on the grid is British racer Tom O’Rourke with the MV Commercial Truck Racing Team. O’Rourke who comes from a family with a rich truck driving heritage made his truck racing debut at the ADAC Truck Grand Prix Nürburgring in 2019 where he finished fifth.
