ETRC DIGITAL RACING CHALLENGE RETURNS TO LE MANS

19 February 2021

This year’s edition of the ETRC Digital Racing Challenge has thrown up some great wheel-to-wheel battles, as the drivers fight for the top positions in what is an incredibly close field.

Norbi Kiss took a lights to flag win in the first race at the Nürburgring and showed his sim racing skills, when he rolled up the field from behind in race 2 to grab third on a circuit that even in the virtual world demanded a lot of the drivers and trucks.

Hot on his tail was German racer Lukas Hahn, who showed some great racing grit as he didn’t let Norbi Kiss get away in race 1. Hahn went on to bag two second place finishes on his home circuit at the Nürburgring.

Spanish driver Manuel Alvarez has really shaken up the field with 4 podium finishes in the first 4 races. In a chaotic reversed-grid race he took his first win in round 2 of the ETRC Digital Racing challenge and will without a doubt want more victories.

After a podium finish in the opening round, Sascha Lenz was back on form at the virtual Nürburgring with some tight battles with Spanish driver Josy Vila as the German looked more fierce on his home turf.

Whilst Lion Truck racing driver Jonathan André was involved in some tight fought battles in both races, the Frenchman didn’t get the reward as he finished in seventh twice. He will be looking to better his performance on his home turf at the Buggatti circuit.

A new truck racer will join the grid at Le Mans: Robbin Kruithof, who works with the Dutch Rainbow Warrior Truck racing team, will make his virtual debut this weekend.
