Three generations of Portuguese racing drivers in the same championship

With their distinctive yellow and blue branded trucks, the Reboconort Racing team from Portugal have somewhat written history when all three drivers raced in the 2016 season finale in Jarama together, making it the first time three generations of drivers had competed in the same FIA sanctioned race.

Eduardo who is the oldest of the Portuguese racing clan has taken championship titles and race wins in series across the Iberian Peninsula and still enjoys his racing.

Jose Rodrigues followed his fathers interest in motor racing and in particular truck racing from a very early age and was often seen at the workshops and race tracks along with his father Eduardo.

Jose started racing in the 1990s and made his FIA ETRC debut in 2010 and then made occasional appearances all the way through the present decade.

2017 was a special year for José where he started out in Austria by taking his maiden win (also a first ever for a Portuguese driver in the FIA ETRC) and signed off by securing the inaugural Promoter’s Cup at his ‘home’ track of Jarama. It was a year where Rodrigues experienced a fair share of bad luck but proved to be a worthy cup winner, especially after the 'drama in Jarama' where his truck was involved in an incident that caused a red flag in race one but recovered to finish eighth overall.

The Grandson of Eduardo and son of José, José-Eduardo is the third generation of Rodrigues to race in the FIA ETRC.

The youngster made his debut at Jarama in 2016 and raced in a handful of races in 2017 and 2018 as he dovetailed his studies with making a name for himself in the FIA ETRC. Last season the Portuguese showed his potential when he was on the podium 5 times in the GRAMMER TRUCK CUP.
