2020 Calendar Confirmed; Summer Test at Red Bull Ring Added

20 December 2019

The final calendar for the 2020 FIA ETRC has been announced today.....

The 2020 FIA European Truck Racing Championship schedule was formerly approved by the FIA World Motorsport Council this month.

The calendar, which can be viewed in detail below, will feature eight races in eight different countries taking in some familiar challenging circuits which are established FIA ETRC venues.

In addition to the eight rounds there will be an official two-day test event at the Red Bull Ring which will take place on 18/19 June. This will be held with a firm future intention for the FIA ETRC to return at Red Bull Ring in 2021 as a full championship round.

To ensure that the gap from the Slovakiaring in early June to the ADAC Truck Grand Prix fixture in July is maximised, the ETRA has devised a special opportunity for teams to take part in an official test at the popular Austrian venue on 18/19 June.

This will be at former FIA ETRC venue the Red Bull Ring and will feature a significant amount of track time over the two days.

In addition to this ETRA plan to also host other attractions on these days including media and partner opportunities relating to the #onetruckfamily campaign and an exciting new initiative relating to future technologies and efficiency projects in the championship.

“We have had our 2020 race calendar officially ratified and we believe that it represents a really strong combination of continuity and challenge for our teams and drivers,” said ETRA Director Rolf Werner .

“We are delighted to be heading back to the Red Bull Ring, a well-known track that is popular and logistically efficient for teams.

“The Red Bull event is designed to ensure that teams have the opportunity to make use of track time for both sporting, commercial and marketing use.”

The 2020 schedule will include shared rounds with the WTCR FIA World Touring Car Cup at Hungaroring and Slovakiaring in April and June respectively.
