Read what happened in the all-important Super Pole session at Jarama this morning.....
Adam Lacko scored his second pole of the 2019 FIA ETRC season at Jarama this morning.
The Buggyra Racing driver broke Hahn’s incredible run of pole success which has seen the German beaten only on two previous events this season, by Norbert Kiss at Misano and Lacko last weekend at Le Mans.
Hahn’s saw his initially quicker first lap of 1m57.595s cancelled due to an overspeeding offence forcing the champion to go again for a second lap.
This he duly did and set a lap of 1m57.738s but it was just shy of Lacko’s first lap of 1m57.606s.
Placing third on the grid was Sascha Lenz with the SL Trucksport30 MAN driver sharing the second row with Norbert Kiss who vaulted above local ace Antonio Albacete in the final moments of the session.
Steffi Halm will start sixth in her Team Schwabentruck IVECO, while Andre Kursim placed seventh for Don’t Touch Racing.
Rene Reinert and Jose Rodrigues filled out the eighth and ninth slots, while Fabio Citignola completed the top ten and was the fastest GRAMMER TRUCK CUP runner this morning.
Timed Practice - Hahn on Top; Citignola's Mega LapHahn topped the times in the 10-minute Timed Practice session which formed the Super Pole contenders.
The 2019 champion lapped in 1m57.890s to head Adam Lacko by just 0.131s.
Sascha Lenz placed third in his SL Trucksport30 machine, just 0.032s from second placed Lacko.
Fourth was Antonio Albacete as the Truck Sport Lutz Bernau driver led Steffi Halm, Norbert Kiss and Andre Kursim.
Rene Reinert placed eight just ahead of Jose Rodrigues’ Reboconort MAN.
The final position in the Super Pole session was keenly fought with several drivers staking claim to it in a thrilling final few moments.
Initially Fabio Citignola’s Tankpool24 Racing Mercedes-Benz held the position but first Jamie Anderson [Anderson Racing] and then Anthony Janiec [Lion Truck] usurped him.
Citignola though fought back and with just seconds left in the session he lapped in 1m59.636s to beat Janiec by the tiny margin of 0.023s!
The two remaining races on the 2019 FIA ETRC take place this afternoon with races schedule to start and 12.50 and 14.50 local time.
