Jochen Hahn swept to a remarkable 13th pole of the 2019 FIA ETRC campaign....
Jochen Hahn took his 13th pole position of the FIA ETRC season at Circuito Jarama today after a thrilling Super Pole session.
The recently crowned 2019 champion set a best lap of 1m58.300 to just shade local hero Antonio Albacete’s Truck Sport Lutz Bernau MAN truck.
Hahn’s time was just 0.097s faster than Albacete’s as the two looked set to play out another fierce battle on the challenging track just north west of Madrid.
Sharing the second row of the grid will be Sascha Lenz (SL Trucksport30) and Steffi Halm (Team Schwabentruck).
Adam Lacko (Buggyra Racing) starts in fifth position ahead of Norbert Kiss’ Tankpool24 Racing Mercedes-Benz and Andre Kursim’s Don’t Touch Racing IVECO.
Jose Rodrigues will start eight in his Reboconorte MAN, while Rene Reinert and Jamie Anderson complete the top ten.
Anderson starts from pole position as he looks to reduce the points gap to GRAMMER TRUCK CUP leader Oly Janes who will start 11th. But the British driver did not take part in Super Pole after he lost a pipe from his gear selector cylinder.
Close Times in Timed Practice Session
In the timed practice session which made up the ten successful drivers that went through to Super Pole it was Hahn who just headed the times.
The IVECO driver set a best of 1m58.567s to lead Buggyra’s Lacko by just 0.026s.
Again the top places were tight with Kiss in third heading Lenz, Albacete, Kursim and Reinert with all five covered by just 0.3s!
Eighth placed Halm, while Jose Rodrigues and Jamie Anderson filled out the final two Super Pole slots.
Oly Janes was the first to miss out on the Super Pole session, but was some 0.8s off GRAMMER TRUCK CUP adversary Anderson.
The two British drivers are separated by 38 points with 60 to play for in the remainder of the 2019 campaign.
In what was one of the closest timed practice sessions of the season, the whole of the top ten was covered by just 1.1seconds.
