Hahn Takes Dominant Race 3 Win

Jochen Hahn took his second win of the weekend after a dominant display....

Jochen Hahn took his second win of the weekend at Circuit Zolder this afternoon as he converted his pole position in to another 20 point maximum score.

The Hahn Racing IVECO driver maintained his remarkable record of winning at least one race at every round so far yesterday and doubled up with a controlled display again today.

Hahn and fellow front row starter Adam Lacko both got fine getaways at the rolling start but it was Hahn who claimed the line in to turn one. From there he was never headed over the 12-lap race and executed his familiar power slide exiting the final corner to savour the win by an impressive hu7.7 seconds.

Lacko was a comfortable second claiming his second podium position of the weekend for the Buggyra Racing squad but any chance of pressuring Hahn was unlikely due to some overheating issues for the 2017 champion.

Completing the podium was Norbert Kiss in his Tankpool24 Racing Mercedes-Benz challenger. The Hungarian came under some pressure from Steffi Halm but there was no way through for the Team Schwabentruck driver despite almost out-dragging Kiss as they approached the line.

Andre Kursim managed to get passed Antonio Albacete in the opening exchanges and the Don’t Touch Racing driver just led the Spaniard home for fifth place.

The pair engaged in some exciting racing with some contact made at the second chicane when Albacete’s move was resisted by Kursim.

Rene Reinert spent most of the race fending off the advances of Sascha Lenz as the two fought over seventh position. This was resolved when Lenz speared off the track while attempting a pass on his fellow German at the start of lap 10 and pirouetted in to the gravel trap.

The GRAMMER TRUCK CUP category witnessed Jamie Anderson claiming his eighth win of the season after pole sitter Luis Recuenco again got shuffled down the order in the opening skirmishes.

Anderson largely controlled the race and led home an all-British podium with points leader Oly Janes in second for Buggyra Racing and Terry Gibbon third for T Sport Racing.

Anderson also helped himself to the semi-reverse grid pole after Lenz’s terminal excursion late in the race.

Equalling his best result of the season, Erwin Kleinnagelvoort took fourth in GRAMMER TRUCK CUP in his Scania. The drive included a fraught battle with Fabio Citignola’s Tankpool24 Racing entry as the pair made contact several times in the fight for fourth.

Citignola had to make do with sixth as the dejected Luis Recuenco vaulted him and Jose-Eduardo took seventh. Citignola only just made the finish after an issue stopped him on the track just a few metres after taking the chequered flag

Dominique Orsini was the final finisher in his Mercedes-Benz but took points for eighth in category.

Lenz apart, the other two retirements were David Jenkins who pitted on lap six and Jose Rodrigues who left the track and re-joined on the second lap but then pitted shortly after.

The teams win went to Die Bullen von IVECO Magirus over Buggyra Racing and Tankpool24 Racing.

The final race of the weekend is scheduled to start at 16.05 local time.
