The most attended and most prestigious truck races of the year will arrive this weekend as the FIA European Truck Championship journeys to its spiritual home of Nürburgring.
The festival of truck racing and a carnival attended by a huge and loyal audience of truck culture aficionados will descend upon the legendary race track for the ADAC Truck Grand Prix and with it four rounds of the 2019 FIA ETRC.
A sizeable field of 24 FIA ETRC trucks will be primed for action to entertain and thrill a crowd expected to be well in excess of 100,000 people this weekend.

Home Heroes Fight for Victory
The Nürburgring crowd will have a huge array of home grown heroes to cheer for this weekend as at least six German racers likely to be in with a chance of a victory.
Jochen Hahn, as ever, leads the way in his Hahn Racing IVECO which has swept to six race wins already this season.
The five-times champion has been on his customary excellent form this season and will be a hard man to beat once again. But his rivals can take some consolation in the fact that actually the Nürburgring has not been a happy hunting ground for Hahn in recent years with two wins from the last 11 race starts at his home track.
Steffi Halm has enjoyed strong and consistent points hauls this season with multiple podiums to ensure that she now leads the chase of Hahn in the title fight.
The Team Schwabentruck IVECO driver scored memorable victories at the ‘Ring in 2016 and again last season and is sure again to be a crowd favourite.
Rene Reinert, Andre Kursim and Sascha Lenz are all capable of adding to their already secured 2019 wins as the trio look to taste home glory.
Reinert won first time out in his new IVECO at Misano in May, while Sascha Lenz has taken a brace of victories in his SL Trucskport30 machine.
Kursim claimed a win at Hungaroring last month in the Sven Walter fronted Don’t Touch Racing IVECO but endured a difficult weekend in Slovakiaring two weeks ago.
As always proven winners and former champions Norbert Kiss, Adam Lacko and Antonio Albacete will be constant threats.
While Kiss is the only one of the talented and experienced pair to win in 2019, both Albacete and Lacko will be hungry to overturn their difficult starts to the season.
Lion Truck Racing’s Anthony Janiec will be hoping to reprise his 2018 heroics when he scooped the biggest win of his career in race four last season.
Jose Rodrigues will return to action after an enforced break at Slovakiaring as the Portuguese goes chasing another podium to add to the one he earned at Hungaroring last month.
Making a very welcome return to the paddock is Shane Brereton in a new-look truck that he will make his 2019 FIA ETRC debut in this weekend.
The vibrant purple challenger will likely see Brereton aim for at least overall top ten finishes as the reigning GRAMMER TRUCK CUP champion eyes a full campaign in 2020.
Sure to be a crowd pleaser will be veteran racer Gerd Korber who returns for one race only this season in a second Team Schwabentruck IVECO.
New Faces Add to GRAMMER TRUCK CUP Fascination
The GRAMMER TRUCK CUP has seen some serious action in 2019 as Jamie Anderson (Anderson Racing), Oly Janes (Buggyra Racing), Luis Recuenco (Truck Sport Lutz Bernau) and Terry Gibbon have all shared victories.
The fight for the title is on as just 35 points separate leader Oly Janes, Luis Recuenco and Jamie Anderson in the quest for the GRAMMER TRUCK CUP this season.
In addition to the four winners there has been another noteworthy performance so far. That of the rookie racer Fabio Citignola who joined the Tankpool24 Racing team over the winter and despite no experience and little testing has scored a series of third places in the category.
Terry Gibbon returns from a one race hiatus in his new-look T Sport entry, with the Lancastrian aiming to keep up the momentum of his fine category win at Hungaroring last month.
As well as the regular contenders there will be a strong group of race-by-race entries this weekend.
Returning to the scene of his impressive FIA ETRC debut at the corresponding fixture last July, young Teo Calvet will be on the hunt for more podium appearances.
The Lion Truck Racing teenager has again should strongly in the thriving French series this season and is gaining pace and racecraft with every outing.
Another welcome French addition for the weekend is Jennifer Janiec, the younger sister of FIA ETRC regular Anthony Janiec.
Jennifer will ensure that two female racers are in the action this weekend for the first time since Jarama in 2016 as she is entered in former FIA ETRC racer Maurice Monfrino’s truck.
Set to make debut appearances in the FIA ETRC is another French series regular in the shape of Franck Conti and his unique orange Volvo. Why Orange? Because he’s from Orange, France!
Also a new face is German racer Heinrich Clemens-Hecker makes his FIA ETRC debut after recent promising outings in the British and Dutch series with his No.25 MAN.
Erwin Kleinnagelvoort returns to action after enforced layoffs. The Dutchman and the Czech veterans will line-up in their customary white Scania and MAN challengers respectively.
