Current FIA ETRC points leader Jochen Hahn topped the qualifying session at the Slovakia Ring this afternoon with the IVECO driver eclispsing the field again to set a best time of 2m43.312s.
Following consultation with officials and confirmed by the stewards the results of Timed Practice 2 and Super Pole 2 were merged and penalty marker cancelled lap times were re-instated.
In what was a mirror of yesterday's order, the Team Tankpool24 Racing Mercedes-Benz of Norbert Kiss will again start alongside Hahn.
The Hungarian was just 0.25s off the reigning champions best lap as he set a time of 2m43.560s in his Mercedes-Benz.
Rene Reinert, owing to his time of 2m43.808s in the earlier Timed Practice session to take third position on the grid, with Adam Lacko in his Buggyra Racing-run Freightliner completing the second row.
Steffi Halm qualified the Team Schwabentruck IVECO fifth and will share the third row of the grid with the fellow IVECO truck of Andre Kursim.
The Don’t Touch Racing driver put on a strong qualifying performance despite joining in last minute as his team was still installing side windows when the practice session began.
Two MANs will start behind the IVECOs on the fourth row of the grid, with Sascha Lenz of SL Trucksport30 in seventh and Truck Sport Lutz Bernau’s Antonio Albacete one place behind in eighth.
Albacete was allowed to compete in the Super Pole session as an 11th truck after a lap time was cancelled due to track limit violations.
Albacete’s team-mate Luis Recuenco was the fastest GRAMMER TRUCK CUP runner in ninth, with Oly Janes of Buggyra Racing rounding out the top 10 and grabbing second in the GRAMMER category.
Jamie Anderson, in his Anderson Racing MAN, qualified 11th with Fabio Citignola 12th and Eduardo Rodrigues being the final qualifier in 13th.
Dominique Orsini didn’t take part in the session due to a technical issue with his Mercedes-Benz truck.
