Jochen Hahn took a straightforward race three win at Most this lunchtime....
Jochen Hahn re-exerted his authority on the 2018 FIA European Truck Racing Championship with a dominant display to control the third race of the weekend at Most.
The Hahn Racing IVECO driver grabbed the lead from pole sitter Adam Lacko at the start and was never headed as he waltzed to his seventh win of the season, even finishing with his customary ‘powerslide’ as he exited the final corner.
In the first dry running of the weekend Hahn showed his prowess to ensure that he extended his title lead over rival Adam Lacko back to 49-points.
Lacko who started from his second consecutive pole position suffered a sluggish start and was also threatened by a flying Sascha Lenz who was aiming to reprise his second place from yesterday’s first race.
Lenz’s SL Trucksport took third after initially challenging Lacko who lost a piece of bodywork in the process of fighting off the German, but Lacko held on for the runners-up position.
The rest of the top six positions were taken by Norbert Kiss (Tankpool24 Racing Mercedes-Benz) in fourth, Antonio Albacete (Truck Sport Lutz Bernau) in fifth and Rene Reinert in sixth.
Jose Rodrigues enjoyed improved pace in the dry conditions to take seventh while GRAMMER TRUCK CUP winner Shane Brereton secured eighth and the reverse grid pole but was placed under investigation for his part in the incident with Kursim.
Andre Kursim placed ninth in his Don’t Touch Racing IVECO after being forced to take a trip through the gravel trap on lap seven while attempting to defend from Brereton.
Die Bullen IVECO von Magirus won the teams' race as Hahn and Halm too the neccessary points to beat Team Reinert Adventures and Buggyra 1969.
Just behind the recovering Kursim came Steffi Halm who suffered a tough race and was classified 10thafter struggling to find pace in her Team Schwabentruck IVECO.
Brereton Takes GRAMMER Spoils
The GRAMMER TRUCK CUP saw another gripping race as Shane Brereton put behind him a difficult Saturday to take maximum points in his TOR MAN challenger.
Brereton was forced to take a fresh engine on Friday after technical issues and as a result drove a conservative two races yesterday. His patience though was rewarded with a fine win as he headed Steffen Faas’ Tankpool24 Racing Mercedes-Benz to take the 20-points.
Behind Faas came Saturday’s double class winner Oly Janes in the Buggyra International Racing System Freightliner.
Just outside the podium was Jamie Anderson who surged up through the field after he was forced to start from the back row of the grid due to issues in timed practice.
Luis Recueno came in fifth ahead of Terry Gbbon (T Sport MAN), Erwin Kleinnagelvoort (EK Race Scania) and Jose-Eduardo Rodrigues (Reboconort MAN).
Frankie Vojtisek retired after experiencing problems in his truck which forced him to pit and park his white MAN on the second lap.
The fourth and final race of the weekend is scheduled to take place at 16.45 local time.
