British ace Terry Gibbon is set to return to FIA ETRC action this season...
T Sport Racing will return to the FIA European Truck Racing Championship in 2018 and are targeting racing at up to four rounds on the calendar.
The team, which is owned and managed by Terry Gibbon, made its FIA ETRC debut at Red Bull Ring last May and scored four points for a fine seventh place in the final race.”
Since then Gibbon made waves in the British Truck Racing Championship scoring a fine win at Pembrey and several other strong finishes in the 2017 campaign.
“We are looking at competing in four races this year and really looking forward to it,” said Gibbon.
“After the taster we had last year we feel we can really kick-on and make a good impact this year. We have a strong team and strong partners, so with the package we have I think we can be excited about the races we can compete in this year.”
The T Sport operation is currently busy preparing for a busy 2018 season, but has already competed in the Brands Hatch BTRA event and was also be in action last weekend at Pembrey in Wales.
However, Gibbon has a keen eye on making waves on European soil this season and believes that success in the Promoter’s Cup will be achievable.
“The level is high and we want to push ourselves as a team,” said Gibbon.
“I am convinced that we can fight for wins and podiums in the Promoter’s Cup class and more.”
Gibbon has targeted Nurburgring, Hungaroring, Most and Jarama as the races in which he and the T Sport operation plan to be seen in this year.
The team has recently expanded its partner portfolio with Haugg Kühler, Trux and SignDezign added to the truck since 2017.
