What the drivers said on Sunday at Zolder

17 September 2017

Here's what the top drivers of Sunday's races had to say once the dust has settled.

Race 3

Adam Lacko – Buggyra International Racing System | Freightliner

"A very good and very nice race for me with a really good start. At first Antonio [Albacete] could get a bit in front but in the first corner I found the perfect line and took over the lead. In the following one, I was able to extend my gap over Jochen [Hahn] and control the race from the front. After my technical issues yesterday I was just praying for everything to work fine again – my team did a great job and my truck was perfect!"

2. Jochen Hahn – Team Hahn Racing | Iveco

"I’m super happy with my race! Didn’t have a good timed practice but then a really good start helped me to reach the front-runners. I made up some points on Norbert Kiss which is really important for me, because he is the guy I have to focus on in the championship now in order to defend my second place. I think [Adam] Lacko is a bit too far away now but for second and third positions it’s still a very tight fight."

3. Antonio Albacete – Truck Sport Lutz Bernau | MAN

"Race three was OK. I’ve had a good start, but it was not enough to get in front of Adam Lacko. In the first corner, I was in the outside and got passed there by Jochen Hahn. In the following I felt something strange on the track, maybe water or oil, so I slowed down a bit and lost ground to Jochen. I managed to defend my third place in a hard fight with Steffi Halm."

Race 4

1. André Kursim – Team Tankpool24 Racing | Mercedes-Benz

"It’s a bit hard to find words for this weekend. Four times on the top step of the Promoter’s Cup two overall wins and three times first place in the teams' classification is more than I was ever dreaming of. After the catastrophe in Most where I couldn’t drive a single meter, I’m more than happy and also super motivated for the last two races of this season."

2. David Vršecký – Buggyra International Racing System | Freightliner

"One-half of the circuit was dry, the other half wet so especially in the wet areas I was a bit more careful because I didn’t want to risk the podium in this race. Norbert Kiss always came closer in the wet sections but I managed to fend him off and remain in second place. I’m really happy with this."

3. Norbert Kiss – Team Tankpool24 Racing | Mercedes-Benz

"It was a very hard race because half of the circuit was wet and we went really slow there. Especially in those sections I was always getting really close to David Vršecký but unfortunately couldn’t manage to pass him. For the last laps I’ve seen Adam Lacko coming closer and closer so I had to defend my podium. We’ve had a really good weekend here with a huge amount of point and a third place in the championship again now."
