What the drivers said on Sunday at Autodrom Most

3 September 2017

Here's what the podium-finisher's from Sunday's races at Autodrom Most had to say.

Race 3

2. Adam Lacko – Buggyra International Racing System | Freightliner

"The hardest part was the start because our truck is not the fastest starter. However I just managed to stay first. When I saw Jochen in the mirror, I immediately tried to open up a small gap to drive more comfortably. When I managed to open that small gap I drove as normal, trying to maintain the pace and not to make a mistake. It was perfect to win at my home Truck Grand Prix at Autodrom Most."

2. Jochen Hahn – Team Hahn Racing | Iveco

"It was hard. After the first lap I was two seconds down and Adam [Lacko] and I tried to close that gap but it was impossible. We’re in the Czech Republic and Adam won, so I’d like to say ‘congratulations’. For me second place was the maximum today and I’m happy with it."

3. Antonio Albacete – Truck Sport Lutz Bernau | MAN

"First of all, congratulation to Adam. He made a big step towards winning the championship. The first couple of laps was a little bit difficult as I had to fight with Steffi [Halm]. From lap three I found the pace and managed to be a little bit quicker. I pulled away and was catching Jochen, but had problem with one of the tyres. All in all, third position is good and I’m happy for the team."

Race 4

1. Shane Brereton | MAN

"I’m over the moon. I also have to say big thank you to Ryan Smith because he told me how to tactically play the start and it worked out perfectly. We shared data and he showed me where I can gain speed. This gave me confidence. It was good race, it was a lonely one but still nerving. I had an issue with the differential [on Saturday]. Steffi Halm very kindly lent us her diff, so I have loads to people to thank."

2. David Vršecký – Buggyra International Racing System | Freightliner

"The first two laps were very difficult because there was some fluid on the circuit and it was really difficult to find grip and find traction. After that I was only looking in the mirrors, driving safely and avoiding mistakes. Now I’m looking forward to Zolder. I really like the circuit, it’s the best adrenaline during the season, so I’m really looking forward to it. I really like being there and I enjoy every moment of it."

3. Steffi Halm – Reinert Racing | MAN

"It was a very difficult race because we were starting from fifth and at the beginning, there was a little bit of action involving David [Vršecký] and Sascha [Lenz]. I was able to overtake Sascha but after that I was stuck behind David. He was very slow in the corners and I tried to find right place to overtake but he didn’t give me the space, we collided but we we’re both lucky before we were both able to carry on and finish the race. It’s podium, it’s good but I wasn’t really happy with the action on the track. I wanted a little bit more in the first races on Saturday and Sunday but I wasn’t able to qualify high enough. We scored important points but at Zolder we need to qualify better."
