The European Truck Racing Association (ETRA) announced today the formalisation of an exciting new partnership with Krone Group, the German commercial and agricultural vehicle manufacturer.
The European Truck Racing Association (ETRA) announced today the formalisation of an exciting new partnership with Krone Group, the German commercial and agricultural vehicle manufacturer.
On the eve of the 2017 FIA European Truck Racing Championship, ETRA and Krone have signed an agreement to become an official partner this year. The deal will see Krone feature prominently throughout the FIA ETRC season and become a familiar brand within the paddock.
The partnership was initialised by the European Truck Management (ETM) company, which works side-by-side with ETRA in introducing, promoting and managing companies that support and work with the FIA ETRC.
ETRA Director, Georg Fuchs, said of the partnership between the FIA ETRC and Krone: “We would like to offer Krone a warm welcome to the FIA ETRC family this season. It quickly became evident that we shared a common philosophy which brought competition and industry together.”
“From this initial interest we have formed a very progressive partnership which will see Krone become a well-known brand in the paddock and throughout the FIA ETRC,” continued Fuchs. “I believe that together a great deal can be achieved in pushing the key messages of what the truck industry and the racing side can bring to benefit the greater good of the transportation in all of the different and varied industries which Krone service.”

Krone has manufactured around 48,000 vehicle units (approx. 37,000 semitrailers and nearly 11,000 swap systems); Germany continues to be the strongest sales market at 30 percent, followed by Western Europe (41%), and Eastern Europe (27%).
The Krone Group employs 4,300 workers worldwide. This strong increase in the number of employees is due to the growth of the Krone Commercial Vehicle Group; approx. 2,500 employees are currently working on vehicle production at the Werlte, Herzlake (both at Emsland/Lower Saxony), Dinklage (at Osnabruck), Lübtheen (Mecklenburg-Vorpommern), and Tire (Turkey) locations.
