After winning the FIA European Truck Racing Championship for the fourth time, new champion Jochen Hahn announced last month that he will change strategies to defend his crown in 2017.

The now four-time FIA ETRC champion will switch truck makes for the new campaign as he is set to pilot an IVECO race truck.

Announcement the news Hahn paid tribute to his previous partner MAN for the great co-operation since 2008, saying. “So far, we celebrated our biggest successes with our MAN race truck. Becoming a four times European Truck Racing Champion and once European vice champion is a record of successes which speaks for itself,” Hahn stated after firming up his latest title at Le Mans last month.

Team Hahn Racing and Team Schwabentruck Racing has agreed on a technical partnership for the next three years. The new IVECO race trucks will be built during the winter break – at the Team Hahn Racing workshop in Egenhausen, Germany together with the Schwabentruck crew. “We are looking forward to this joint challenge and we are confident that we will be able to continue our successes achieved throughout the last years,” Hahn concluded.

The agreement and the three-year plan has been approved by the IVECO CEO Pierre Lahutte and by the IVECO marketing officer Jean Patrick Yepke, who were both on site at the Le Mans finale.
