Race 3
1st Jochen Hahn
“It all felt under control in this race.
“But actually, I was lucky really that Norbi (Kiss) had a problem with his turbo charger or something. He was into the lead just ahead of me and then I could smell it and I thought ‘this could be good’. Then yes, I overtake him and really he gave me a present, as there is nothing he can do in this situation.
“But after this it was all pretty straightforward. I know that René (Reinert) was battling with Adam (Lacko) and so I made a good show with some drifting for the fans on the final lap.
“It was celebrating the 100th victory in my career, so it has really been a big emotional weekend for me. To win the Driver Championship, the Team Championship with René (Reinert) and my 100th race, well there are no more words.”
2nd Adam Lacko
“Yes, it was a good battle with René (Reinert) which I enjoyed, but it was also a tough one for me.
“On the first lap I didn’t have good grip on the front axle and the big problem was the brakes. So I think that René (Reinert) knew this and so he was waiting to see where I was struggling and might make a mistake.
“I had to drive in a very controlled way, making no mistakes and I finished in second position, which is good for this weekend.
“For race four I will now start from seventh and to be honest it is going to be hard with the set up problems, but we will see where we finish in the last race.”
3rd René Reinert
“It is good to get another podium. This morning’s superpole position was not so good for me with fifth place. I was not satisfied with this and a bad starting place.
“But I made a good start and on the first lap I already gained one position from Sascha (Lenz) and then the next lap Norbi (Kiss) had a big technical problem and so I was up to third place.
“Adam (Lacko) was ahead of me and I think I was actually a little bit quicker, but I didn’t want to risk anything, especially as it seemed like a good podium to have Jochen (Hahn), Adam (Lacko) and I up there in the same order as the championship.
“So I concentrated on avoiding making any mistakes and in the end it was a third place in the race and also third place in the championship which is great.”
Race 4
1st – Steffi Halm
“I can’t quite believe it, what a perfect way to finish the season.
“It has been a really tough battle in the Driver Championship and I have tried very hard and I am pleased for René that he finished third and that I have managed to get the fourth place.
“I was behind Ellen (Lohr) for many laps, but then saw a chance and went for it. There were no problems and I think we both made a good race in the right way.”
“She (Ellen Lohr) is my team mate and we have just managed to get third place in the Team Championship for WOW Women On Wheels.
“Great weekend and mostly a great year.”
2nd – Ellen Lohr
“It feels great and it feels deserved.
“I have had some fourth places in the championship, including this season, so I have been scratching at the podium, but I have never been on it, so it is really fantastic.
“It was a tough race as well. I had a lot of quick drivers behind me and yes, I had good pace today, but of course some of them have very quick trucks and it is always difficult to keep them behind.
“I actually prefer to fight to catch up and overtake people, but here it was all about defending and the main thing you need for this is concentration not to make any mistake, because once you make a mistake then it is too late and it won’t just be one person getting passed, it will be the whole queue. But when you are leading for so long, it gives you the feeling that you could actually do it.
“Also with Steffi (Halm) and I scoring the 1 – 2 we have managed to secure third place in the Team Championship for our WOW Women on Wheels Team, which is so good for us and has created a great memory.
“So it all went well in this last race, after the disastrous race yesterday (Lohr was one of the trucks damaged in the incident when Janiec hit Lenz).
“OK it was not a win with Steffi (Halm) just managing to get through, but it feels like a win for me, believe me.”
3rd René Reinert
"It’s a perfect weekend for me with three podium finishes and the last race was great fun.
“I made a good start and then I had the two women in front of me, Ellen (Lohr) and Steffi (Halm). They were both really quick and I tried to put the pressure on them to find a way by, but they didn’t make any mistakes and so I had no chance to get by.
“What a great way to end the season, having the two ladies on the podium and I think it is the first time this has ever happened.
“2016 has been a good season for me, on the whole. I couldn’t do the event in Hungary, which cost me a lot of points in the Driver Championship to Norbi (Kiss) and the group. It was then going to be difficult, but I was back in Most and scored good points so could move up. In Zolder I took back the third place in the championship, then had a good weekend in Jarama and now here. Also Norbi (Kiss) had a bit of bad luck in Jarama and here. He looked really fast in qualifying and I was behind him, but in the races I was quick and then today he had the broken engine, but sometimes you have good luck in motor racing and sometimes it is bad.
"The team is really pleased for this year as I finish third in the championship and Steffi (Halm) finishes fourth and then Jochen (Hahn) and I also win the Team Championship with our Reinert Adventure entry.
“Yes, it was a good year.”
Race by Race Entrant Le Mans Weekend winner Shane Brereton
“Well it has been an eventful weekend, but also exciting.
“It was a big accident yesterday (race two) and I feel a bit battered and bruised, but got checked out at the medical centre and was able to race today. The team did a great job and I have to say thank you to Jochen and his team for helping us out with spare parts and everything.”
“The big plan for entering the FIA ETRC is to learn and to get faster and we have achieved that and managed to get into the top 10 in both the superpole sessions which I am really pleased about.
“I’ve done a few rounds of this championship this year now and I think it is run very professionally. It is very competitive and the standard is very high - you just have to look at the likes of Jochen Hahn’s times and they are unbelievable.
“If you can use this to be inspired to keep chasing, then you have to get quicker and quicker and hopefully I can come back for more races in 2017.”
