Most debrief: Adam Lacko, Buggyra International Racing System, Freightliner Truck
We caught up with championship contender, Adam Lacko, after his home event in Most:
"I am very happy with my results here. We had a lot of fans, friends and family around so the best way for us to show them how we appreciate their support is to get as many podiums as possible. Unfortunately I didn't manage to gain any points on Jochen, but at least I didn't lose any as well.
"Racing in front of your home crowd can give you a real mixture of feelings. On one hand It’s great to see how many fans support us and come all the way to Most to show us their support. This always gives me a great amount of extra energy and will to get the best result. On the other hand there is also a lot of pressure as you don't want to disappoint them. I hope that we have managed to put on a great show and that everyone enjoyed it as much as I and the whole team have.
"It was also the home event for for Buggyra International Racing Systems and it was really busy with guests, autograph signings, team media and a lot of Buggyra balloons everywhere! We then head off on Wednesday to China for the Chinese Truck Racing Championship (which the team also competes in)
"Of course the most important part of the weekend is what happens on track. We have four races per weekend. In races one and three the grid is set by qualifying. If you are successful in these races, then you pay a bit of a price in races two and four which are a reverse grid for the top eight.
"I enjoy the reverse grid races, because from the back you get much more action. Every race is different, but you always have to give it 100% in order to get as much to the front as possible with as little contact as possible! If you’re lucky enough you find a nice gap to fit into before turn one, that can make everything much easier.
"I can’t believe that we are coming to the final three rounds of the championship and I am really pleased to still be in the hunt for the title. Zolder, Jarama and Le Mans are all great circuits and I personally enjoy racing on all of them. If we’ll manage to find the right setup I’m sure we can still fight for the title. Maybe a little rain from time to time wouldn't hurt…"
