FIA ETRC entries set for mega Most

The FIA European Truck Racing Championship heads to the Autodrom Most in the Czech Republic this weekend in the second part of an Eastern European double-header.

After the fireworks of the Hungaroring last weekend a full grid of thoroughbred racing trucks will take to the challenging Most circuit to battle out the sixth round of the nine date championship.

Heading in to the weekend all eyes will be on Adam Lacko as he looks to claw back some of the points lost at Hungaroring last weekend which cost him the title lead in his Buggyra International Racing System ‘FatFox’ to Jochen Hahn. The gap stands at 13-points in the German’s favour.

Most is the team’s biggest race of the year and they can rely on massive support from the Czech motorsport fans that will pack the circuit. Lacko has proven himself to be one of the benchmark drivers in the ultra-competitive FIA ETRC but he will be hoping for a return to the winner’s circle on home ground next weekend.

The Buggyra International Racing System team is based close to the Most circuit and has tested there several times this season in order to make the race weekend as successful as possible.

“For sure this is a big weekend for the team and we hope to make as many points as possible for the title challenge,” said Lacko ahead of the race. “Most is a nice circuit and I know there will be big support for us there. To have so many fans and such a high-level of interest feels really special and I will be going all out to give them something to cheer about this weekend.”

However, one man who will be aiming to puncture any early celebrations will be title-rival Jochen Hahn. The German’s 13-point advantage over Lacko heading in to the weekend means the triple FIA ETRC champion will be more determined than ever to ensure that the title fight goes his way this season.

Reigning champion Norbert Kiss will also be up for more podium positions this weekend in his Tankpool24 Racing Mercedes-Benz. The reigning champion had an eventful home race last weekend and took over third position in the rankings after scoring four podiums and netting a large haul of points.

While preparations for the Most races are well underway, there is feverish activity in the nearby base of the Czech Truck Racing Team, as Frankie Vojtisek and his team embark on a race against time to make their home event after last weekend’s race two accident.

With the likes of the Hungaroring race two winner - Steffi Halm, the ever impressive Ryan Smith, the experienced Gerd Körber and the charging Anthony Janiec hunting down more top finishes to enhance their championship positions, there is a massive amount to look forward to this weekend.

Action packed weekend off track too

There will be plenty to entertain the massed ranks of fans, friends and families at Autodrom Most this weekend. Aerobatic planes, a race zone exhibition area, stunt shows, an academy of young racers and a children’s traffic playground  are just some of the activities in a packed programme of entertainment, which is always a feature at an FIA ETRC event weekend.

The official FIA ETRC Fan Village, introduced for this season, provides its customary focal point in the paddock with driver autograph sessions, informative industry exhibitions, race simulators and other games available during the weekend.

All this will take place at the circuit but the FIA ETRC field will also venture further afield with a special parade in to the central square in Most on Friday 2nd September between 16.00-18.00 local time.
